Kiera Cass, author of the bestselling The Selection series, went on tour to promote her new YA novel, A Thousand Heartbeats (HarperTeen), to readers in Texas and Missouri last week. Her latest fantasy follows a princess, who after being kidnapped by the prince of enemy territory, must work with him to prevent war from tearing apart her kingdom.

On December 1, Cass kicked off her tour with an event at BookPeople in Austin, Tex., where she held an author discussion, answered questions from the audience, and signed copies of her books for guests.

More than 150 fans appeared for Cass’s appearance at The Novel Neighbor in St. Louis, Mo., on December 2.

On December 3, Cass was among a number of authors who gathered to speak with young readers at the St. Louis Teen Book Festival at the St. Louis County Library: (clockwise from top l.)
