Raven Tree Press, a small publisher of bilingual children’s books in McHenry, Ill., held an author signing at F.A.O. Schwarz in New York City earlier this month with Britt Menzies, the creator of the StinkyKids line of multicultural dolls and storybooks. The event was held to promote StinkyKids See a Full Moon, which was released on September 16. This is the second book in Raven Tree’s StinkyKids line; the first book, StinkyKids and the Runaway Scissors, was published this past spring. A third title is scheduled for release next spring, in conjunction with the opening of StinkyKids: The Musical, which is currently in production by New York City’s Vital Theater Company.

StinkyKids books are available at Barnes & Noble; the dolls are available at Barnes & Noble, Amazon, Target.com, F.A.O. Schwarz, and Nordstrom. The books are available in print format and in e-book format for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod Touch. As of the end of August, more than 10,000 dolls have been sold.

Menzies launched her StinkyKids line of dolls in 2006 and began partnering with Raven Tree this past year. There are 10 dolls in the StinkyKids brand, who all share a motto, “Always Be a Leader for Good.”
