Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has announced a new four-book series from author Lemony Snicket (a pseudonym for Daniel Handler), set to launch this fall. On October 23, the publisher will release “Who Could That Be at This Hour?”, first in the “autobiographical” All the Wrong Questions series, which will explore Snicket’s youth “in a fading town, far from anyone he knew or trusted.” “Who Could That Be at This Hour?” will be published simultaneously in hardcover, audio, and e-book formats, and has a one-million copy announced first printing.

“We are thrilled to be publishing this compelling new series by Mr. Snicket, which will at long last reveal the renowned author’s mysterious past,” said Little, Brown BFYR senior v-p and publisher Megan Tingley in a statement. Snicket’s characteristically acid remark on the new series: “These books are questionable and contain questions. I, for one, question why anyone would be interested in reading them.”

This is Snicket’s first new series since his bestselling A Series of Unfortunate Events, though his alter ego Handler just wrapped up a tour for his new book Why We Broke Up, illustrated by Maira Kalman and also published by Little, Brown, which recently received a Printz Honor from the American Library Association. The series will be edited by Snicket's longtime editor, Susan Rich, who is editor-at-large at Little, Brown.

Additional information about Snicket and the series will be unveiled at the LSATWQ.com Web site.
