The seventh book in Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid series arrives this November, but starting October 30, kids can read the old books in a new way, when they become available for download as e-books for the first time. The books will carry their own Wimp-ebook logo and branding, and the seventh book, The Third Wheel, will be released simultaneously in both hardcover and e-book formats.

Kinney’s bestselling series got its start digitally on the Web site funbrain.com, but the books—bestseller list standbys with more than 75 million copies in print—have only been available in hardcover up to this point. “It was important to me to make sure the books look just as good on the screen as they do on paper,” said Kinney in a statement. “I’m thrilled at the way the books look on e-readers, tablets, and other devices, and I hope fans enjoy having them in digital format as much as they've enjoyed them as books.”

The Third Wheel arrives from Abrams’ Amulet imprint on November 13 with a first printing of more than 6.5 million copies. All seven Wimpy Kid e-books are available for pre-order online.
