Decatur, Ga.-based singer-songwriter Caroline Herring funded her first children’s album, The Little House Songs – based on Virginia Lee Burton’s Caldecott-winning picture book The Little House – back in 2011 with a Kickstarter campaign that raised double its $7,000 goal. She launched a second Kickstarter campaign this month, to release two children’s book-themed albums: A Book Is to Sing, with songs inspired by classic stories including Ferdinand, Caps for Sale, and The Snowy Day; and Roxaboxen Songs, which focuses on Roxaboxen by Alice McLerran, illus. by Barbara Cooney. With two weeks left to go, she has already passed her $5,000 goal. For more information, click here.
