Among the new titles hitting bookshelves next week are the launch of a new series that offers a different perspective on greatness, a picture book that offers a gateway into robot world domination, and the latest installment in a “dorky” bestselling series.

Robo-Sauce by Adam Rubin, illus. by Daniel Salmieri. Dial, $18.99; ISBN 978-0-525-42887-9. In this meta-fictive picture book, a smooth-talking unseen narrator offers the protagonist a chance to become an actual robot by drinking “robo-sauce,” the boy can’t resist; he then uses the sauce to engineer a full-scale robot takeover, which includes the very book readers hold. The book earned a starred review from PW.

Dork Diaries 10: Tales from a Not-So-Perfect Pet Sitter by Rachel Renée Russell S&S/Aladdin, $13.99; ISBN 978-1-4814-5704-0. In the latest installment in Russell’s illustrated middle-grade series, protagonist Nikki has to hide seven puppies from her friends, family, and classmates.
