This month, actor, comedian, and magic aficionado Neil Patrick Harris set out on a four-city tour in celebration of his children’s book debut, The Magic Misfits (Little, Brown), which hit shelves on November 21. The tour kicked off on December 4 at Symphony Space in New York City, and featured readings, signings, and a few magic tricks. We’ve gathered a selection of highlights from the events.

Fellow author Daniel Handler joined Harris at the Aratani Theater in Los Angeles for a discussion and some magic tricks. The event was organized by Children’s Book World.
Harris appeared on Good Morning America on December 4 with hosts Michael Strahan and Robin Roberts.
The author visited Temple De Hirsch Sinai in Seattle, where he spoke with Courtney Sale, artistic director of the Seattle Children’s Theatre. The event was held in partnership with Seattle Town Hall and University Bookstore.
The tour wrapped up on December 8 at Bobak’s Signature Events in Woodridge, Ill. Here, Harris joined the staff of Anderson’s Bookshop, which hosted the event.
