The State of Grace by Rachael Lucas. Feiwel and Friends, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-250-12998-7. British writer Lucas (My Box-Shaped Heart) shares the thoughts and experiences of high schooler Grace, a teen with Asperger’s. The book earned a starred review from PW.

The Crocodile and the Dentist by Taro Gomi. Chronicle, $16.99; ISBN 978-1-4521-7028-2. On the left side of every spread of this picture book is a crocodile with a painful cavity who doesn’t want to see the dentist—but knows he has to. On the right side is a dentist who doesn’t want to treat the crocodile—but knows he has to. The book earned a starred review from PW.

We Regret to Inform You: An Overachiever’s Guide to College Rejection by Ariel Kaplan. Knopf, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-5247-7370-0. Despite her high test scores and a stellar GPA, Mischa is rejected from every school that she applies to, including her safety school. Detecting that someone has purposefully derailed her life, Mischa attempts to get help.

How to Be a T. Rex by Ryan North, illus. by Mike Lowery. Dial, $17.99; ISBN 978-0-399-18624-0. North (Romeo and/or Juliet) and Lowery (Random Illustrated Facts) give T. rex a fresh twist by asking what the toothy theropod can teach children about harnessing great power for good.

Snow Pony and the Seven Miniature Ponies by Christian Trimmer, illus. by Jessie Sima. Simon & Schuster, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-4814-6268-6. In what might be a send-up of a popular entertainment franchise, Trimmer (Simon’s New Bed) retells the “Snow White” story with ponies playing all the important roles.
