Harold Loves His Woolly Hat by Vern Kousky. Random/Schwartz & Wade, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-5247-6467-8. Harold, a stumpy bear with light amber fur and quizzical eyebrows, wears his red-and-yellow hat everywhere, until it’s taken from him.
Isle of You by David LaRochelle, illus. by Jaime Kim. Candlewick, $16.99; ISBN 978-0-7636-9116-5. LaRochelle (Moo!) and Kim (La La La) have created the picture book equivalent of a guided visualization.
Pea Pod Lullaby by Glenda Millard, illus. by Stephen Michael King. Candlewick, $16.99; ISBN 978-1-5362-0197-0. An Australian duo created this story—portraying a refugee family’s journey—during a real-time gallery collaboration, a note explains.
