29 Dates by Melissa de la Cruz. Inkyard, $18.99; ISBN 978-1-335-54154-3. De la Cruz’s (Someone to Love) lighthearted YA romance novel is about a heroine struggling to please her parents and be true to herself.

Dear Heartbreak: YA Authors and Teens on the Dark Side of Love edited by Heather Demetrios. Holt, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-250-17090-3. In 2017, author Demetrios invited teens to send her “Dear Heartbreak” letters. This volume, with letters selected and answered by other YA authors (including Becky Albertalli, Libba Bray, and A.S. King), is the result.

Twinkle by Katharine Holabird, illus. by Sarah Warburton. Little Simon, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-5344-2915-4. In this pink picture book confection (real sparkles embellish the cover and final page), the wide-eyed, gossamer-winged Twinkle is in her first days at the Fairy School of Magic and Music.

Love, Z by Jessie Sima. Simon & Schuster, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-4814-9677-3. In this picture book, a robot learns what love is from various creatures he meets. The book earned a starred review from PW.
