Author Mac Barnett recently toured in celebration of Circle (Candlewick), marking the conclusion of his Shapes picture book trilogy, illustrated by Jon Klassen. The events kicked off on March 5, with a launch party hosted by Skylight Books in Los Angeles, and wrapped up at Octavia Books in New Orleans on March 14. We’ve gathered a selection of highlights from the tour.

A student at Florida State University School in Tallahassee wrote a reflection on Barnett’s visit, which was arranged through Midtown Reader. The student said she wore a polka dot dress for the presentation because “it’s covered in circles!”

A signed book display at Midtown Reader in Tallahassee shows the three titles in Barnett and Klassen’s trilogy: Circle, Square, and Triangle.
