The New York Times Book Review has revealed its 67th annual list of Best Illustrated Children’s Books. Since 2017, the New York Public Library has co-presented the list of 10 picture books. This year, journalist and critic Bruce Handy; Jessica Cline, supervising librarian in the NYPL Picture Collection; and author-illustrator Jillian Tamaki, a previous recipient of the award, served as the judges.

The 2019 Best Illustrated selections are:

The Lost Cousins by B.B. Cronin (Viking)

A Million Dots by Sven Völker (Cicada)

Just Because by Mac Barnett, illus. by Isabelle Arsenault (Candlewick)

Child of Glass by Beatrice Alemagna (Enchanted Lion)

The Farmer by Ximo Abadia (Holiday House)

The Boring Book by Shinsuke Yoshitake (Chronicle)

Monkey on the Run by Leo Timmers (Gecko)

I Miss My Grandpa by Jin Xiaojing (Little, Brown)
