Catfishing on Catnet by Naomi Kritzer. Tor Teen, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-250-16508-4. In this thoughtful near-future techno-thriller, a sentient AI that secretly runs an online community dedicated to animal pictures befriends a lonely young woman who has spent her life fleeing her violent stalker father. The book earned a starred review from PW.

Finding Narnia: The Story of C. S. Lewis and His Brother Warnie by Caroline McAlister, illus. by Jessica Lanan. Roaring Brook, $19.99; ISBN 978-1-62672-658-1. In this picture book biography of C.S. Lewis and his brother, the siblings discover an old wardrobe in the house, crawling inside and pondering the possibility that it “had no end.” Their mother’s terminal illness prompts the boys to escape their “sad house” by creating an imaginary world that eventually inspires the Chronicles of Narnia.

Old MacDonald Had a Baby by Emily Snape, illus. by K-Fai Steele. Feiwel and Friends, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-250-30281-6. Early parenthood builds into a barnyard menagerie in this picture book variation on “Old MacDonald,” which earned a starred review from PW.
