Sonny Says Sorry! by Caryl Hart, illus. by Zachariah OHora. Bloomsbury, $16.99, ISBN 978-1-5476-0903-1. Sonny and his friends can’t resist opening a box that they find, despite the “Do Not Open” sign on it. When the friends discover a delicious treat inside and eat it, they realize that box belonged to someone else, and must find a way to make things right.

Ride On by Faith Erin Hicks. First Second, $24.99; ISBN 978-1-250-77281-7; $14.99 paper; ISBN 978-1-250-77282-4. A group of riding camp veterans are surprised to find a former rival camp’s student at their camp for the summer, and despite their initial first impressions of one another, they bond over their love of horses and competing. The middle grade graphic novel earned a starred review from PW.

The Drowned Woods by Emily Lloyd-Jones. Little, Brown, $18.99; ISBN 978-0-7595-5631-7. After being held captive by a cruel prince for most of her life, 18-year-old Mer finally makes her escape and meets a group of rebels planning to pull off a daring caper to destroy the prince’s power.

The Honeys by Ryan La Sala. Scholastic/Push, $18.99; ISBN 978-1-338-74531-3. Genderfluid teen Mars vists Aspen Summer Academy, the exclusive summer camp he and his sister formerly attended, to learn of the secrets his now-deceased sister was keeping while she was there. When Mars comes across a group of elite and powerful girls named the Honeys, Mars draws closer to them while unraveling the mystery behind their power.

Ashfall Prophecy by Pittacus Lore. HarperCollins, $18.99; ISBN 978-0-06-284539-9. The fate of Earth is put in the hands of half-human half-alien Syd Chambers to decide to save Earth and his family or destroy it to prevent them from harming aliens ever again in the duology closer to Ashfall Legacy.

This Appearing House by Ally Malinenko. HarperCollins/Tegen, $16.99; ISBN 978-0-063-13657-1. When a new house arrives fully built on Jac’s block, she becomes curious about its origins and dares to enter the haunted residence.

Night on the Sand by Monica Mayper, illus. by Jaime Kim. Clarion, $17.99; ISBN 978-1-328-88418-3. Following an unspecified disaster that destroys their home, two siblings make their way to a beach with only a blanket, an orange, and each other.

Echoes of Grace by Guadalupe García McCall. Lee & Low, $21.95; ISBN 978-1-64379-425-9. Following the accidental death of her nephew, ghosts begin to permeate 18-year-old Grace’s world in ways she can’t predict, and she must fight to understand what the echoes mean before it fractures her family forever. Twelve-year-old Adela Ramírez navigates the definition of family when her stepfather offers to formally adopt her and she finally meets her biological family, despite her bio-dad’s emotional distance.
