A Is for Ambitious by Meena Harris, illus. by Marissa Valdez (Little, Brown, March 14 $18.99; ISBN 978-0-316-35449-3). Girls with passion learn new vocabulary to describe their achievements in the second book in the Ambitious Girl series.

Because I’m Your Mom by Ahmet Zappa; illus. by Dan Santat (Little, Brown March 28, $17.99 ISBN 978-0-316-33821-9). The sequel to picture book Because I’m Your Dad is an ode to mothers for helping make their children feel understood.

Don’t Touch That Flower! by Alice Hemming, illus. by Nicola Slater (Sourcebooks Jabberwocky, March 28 $17.99; ISBN 978-1-7282-7136-1). As spring approaches, a squirrel attempts to save a new bloom from curious animals in the latest book in the Squirrel & Bird Book series.

Get Up, Stand Up by Bob Marley and Cedella Marley, illus. by John Jay Cabuay (Chronicle, March 7 $7.99 board book; ISBN 978-1-79721-942-4). In the third book in the Marley series, inspired by the artist’s songs, a girl learns to stand up for herself during a difficult day at school.

Gloria’s Promise by Robin Preiss Glasser and Jacqueline Preiss Weitzman (Random House Studio, March 21 $18.99; ISBN 978-0-593-18100-3). The newest book in the American Ballet Theatre series follows ballerina hopeful Gloria on her audition for a summer program at the American Ballet Theater.

Go Pig or Go Home by Rob Harrell (Dial, March 14 $14.99; ISBN 978-0-593-53194-5). Batpig and his friends struggle to enjoy summer camp when a devious aquatic villain makes an appearance in the third installment of the Batpig Book series.

How to Catch a Garden Fairy by Alice Walstead, illus. by Andy Elkerton (Sourcebooks Wonderland, March 28 $10; ISBN 978-1-7282-6320-5). The newest addition to the How to Catch series follows the Catch kids on the pursuit of a fairy who has tricks and traps set up to ensure her escape.
