Debra Lande has been named to the newly created spot of publisher of Klutz, the “books plus” division of Scholastic. Lande begins March 30 and will lead the creative and editorial direction of the Klutz publishing list and manage the strategic development of the Klutz brand, with both the editorial and design departments reporting to her. Lande will report to Scholastic Trade president Ellie Berger, while working with John Cassidy, Chief Creative Officer for Klutz. Lande was most recently director of product innovation for Chronicle Books.
