Miriam Farbey has been named global publisher, nonfiction, for Scholastic Trade Publishing, a newly created position. She was formerly global publisher at DK. Farbey will be responsible for overseeing all children’s nonfiction publishing in trade, across Scholastic’s domestic and international distribution channels; she will be based in the U.K. and will report to Ellie Berger, president of Scholastic Trade.
Penguin Young Readers Group has two appointments.
Camilla Sanderson has been appointed to the newly created position of v-p, digital business development. She joined the company in 1995 and was most recently v-p of subsidiary rights. In her new role, she will be the main contact for all digital business and initiatives. Helen Boomer will be returning to the division as v-p, director of subsidiary rights. All rights for Penguin Young Readers will now be under a single director. Boomer was rights director for Viking and Puffin for 11 years, and most recently was executive director of rights at HarperCollins Children’s Books.
