Cecily Kaiser will join Abrams on July 6 in the new role of publishing director for children’s books, focusing on the 0-5 age range. Kaiser spent 10 years at Scholastic, in the book club division and most recently as editorial director for Cartwheel and Little Scholastic.
Krista Marino has been promoted to executive editor at Delacorte Books for Young Readers; she was formerly senior editor. Among the authors and projects she edits: Michael Scott’s The Secrets of Nicholas Flamel series, Carrie Ryan’s Forest of Hands and Teeth trilogy, James Dashner’s The Maze Runner trilogy, and Jennifer Donnelly’s Revolution, due out this September.
Houghton Mifflin Harcourt has three promotions. Jenny Groves and Jenn Taber have both been promoted to publicity manager; they were formerly publicists. Jean Thrift has been promoted to marketing associate; she was previously marketing assistant.
