Heather Flaherty is joining the Bent Agency as an agent on February 1; she was previously a children's/YA scout. She will focus on middle grade and YA, along with a few adult categories.

The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art has named Ellen Keiter chief curator. Keiter is replacing H. Nichols B. Clark, the museum's founding director and chief curator, who retired in December. Clark will continue in an emeritus role as a visiting lecturer and guest curator.

Literary agent Sara Megibow has joined KT Literary. She was previously an agent with Nelson Literary Agency.

Little, Brown Books for Young Readers has several promotions. Sasha Illingworth has been promoted to executive art director, from senior art director. Saho Fuji has been promoted to art director, from associate art director. Tracy Shaw has been promoted to art director, from associate art director. Maggie Edkins has been promoted to designer, from assistant designer.

Stephen Brown has been promoted to assistant editor at Knopf Books for Young Readers; he was previously editorial assistant.

Sharon Hancock, executive director of library marketing and outreach at Candlewick Press, has retired; she was with the company for 10 years. Hancock can be reached here.

Tim Ditlow has been named v-p of content for Epic!, the subscription service for children's books based in Palo Alto, Calif. He will be in charge of content acquisition and editorial for the company, working from New York. Ditlow was formerly a consultant for Epic!, and before that was associate publisher of children's books at Amazon and v-p/publisher at Listening Library

Michael Eisenberg has joined the book publishing group of Highlights in the newly created role of director, book marketing. He will lead marketing programs that drive book sales through trade and retail channels, and will contribute to the publisher's overall strategic direction. Eisenberg has been a consultant with Highlights for the past five years; previously he was senior v-p and co-publisher of children’s books at FSG, and worked in marketing at Macmillan and William Morrow.

Michelle F. Bayuk has joined Quarto Publishing Group USA in the newly created position of associate director, children's book marketing, publicity, and social media. She was most recently associate sales and marketing director at Egmont Publishing.

Children’s Book Council/Every Child a Reader has a few staff announcements. Executive director Robin Adelson’s last day was December 19. Nicole Deming has been named interim director until a new executive director has been appointed. She has also been promoted to communications director, from senior communications manager. Ayanna Coleman has been promoted to manager, events and programs; she was formerly associate manager, events and programs, and librarian.

Candlewick Press has several promotions. Liz Bicknell has been promoted to executive v-p, executive editorial director, and associate publisher, from editorial director and associate publisher. She will continue to supervise her team of U.S. editors, and will take on the role of group trade publishing director for Walker Books Australia. Mary Lee Donovan has added the title of director of editorial operations to her current title of editorial director. Sarah Ketchersid has been promoted to senior executive editor, from executive editor, and will be an at-large contributor to the Walker U.K. publishing effort while continuing as an acquisitions editor for Candlewick. Kate Fletcher has been promoted to senior editor, from editor, and Andrea Tompa has been promoted to senior editor, from editor.

Steve Geck has been promoted to editorial director at Sourcebooks Children's Books. Previously he was editorial manager, Sourcebooks Jabberwocky. He will now also oversee the Sourcebooks Fire young adult imprint.

Melissa Frain has been promoted from editor to senior editor at Tor/Forge; she also acquires YA for Tor Teen.
