Last month, author and former Glee star Chris Colfer set out on a 20-city tour in celebration of Worlds Collide, the sixth and final book in his bestselling The Land of Stories series (Little, Brown). The events took the shape of interactive variety shows, drawing hundreds of fans for trivia, costume contests, stump-the-author games, and more.

Colfer snaps a selfie with the crowd at the kickoff event on July 11 at Barnes & Noble Union Square in New York City.
