This week, Kamilla Benko kicks off her national tour; Beth Ferry drops in to Blue Bunny Books and Toys; Kenneth and Sarah Jane Wright have “love”-ly school visits; and Jim di Bartolo channels the dragon.

She’s a Star

This past Sunday, Kamilla Benko began her national tour for her latest middle grade novel, Fire in the Star (Bloomsbury), the finale of her Unicorn Quest trilogy. The launch was held at the new McNally Jackson Seaport location in Manhattan, where Benko addressed a full room of guests. A craft table featured unicorn activities and bookmarks.

Some Bunny to Love

On February 13, Beth Ferry celebrated her new picture book The Bold, Brave Bunny (HarperCollins), illustrated by Chow Hon Lam. Ferry paid a call on Blue Bunny Books and Toys in Dedham, Mass., for the event, visiting schools in the area earlier that day.

Lola Dutch

Kenneth and Sarah Jane Wright recently went on tour to promote Lola Dutch I Love You So Much (Bloomsbury), the latest in their Lola Dutch picture book series. In conjunction with Little Shop of Stories in Decatur, Ga., the husband-wife author-illustrator team visited schools in the Atlanta area over the course of a week. Here, Sarah Jane Wright draws the titular character during a presentation.

Enter the Dragon

Earlier this month, Jim Di Bartolo stopped by Cosmic Monkey Comics in Portland, Ore., for the launch of his semi-fictionalized graphic novel biography, The Boy Who Became a Dragon: A Bruce Lee Story (Scholastic/Graphix). Di Bartolo signed copies and drew Bruce Lee; the drawing was then raffled off to a guest who purchased a copy of the book.
