Random House Children’s Books and Mary Pope Osborne, author of the popular Magic Tree House series, have announced a new online program, aimed at keeping young readers engaged during the coronavirus crisis. Magic Tree House Home Adventures will run from April 27 to May 22, featuring weekly themed videos, crafts, games, reading challenges, recipes, trivia, and other activities tied to the series and its characters. Readers will also have access to videos of Osborne reading and answering questions from fans.

The program includes various elements to facilitate distance learning, such as writing prompts, cross-curricular activities, resource guides, plays and sing-alongs from Music Theatre International, clips from Listening Library, materials from Osborne’s Classroom Adventures program, and more. Using the hashtag #MTHAdventures, families can enter for a chance to be featured on @RandomHouseKids’ Instagram.

Osborne said in a statement, “Magic Tree House Home Adventures is my way of connecting with readers, parents, and educators during this challenging time. Random House and I have worked together to create fun, new ways to learn and play with Jack and Annie. I’ve always loved hearing from my readers and can’t wait to interact with them in this brand-new way.”

Since its debut in 1992, the award-winning Magic Tree House series has sold more than 143 million books worldwide and has been translated into 34 languages in more than 100 countries.
