Chad W. Beckerman has joined the CAT Agency as agent, representing illustrators and author-illustrators. He was previously creative director at Abrams Books for Young Readers.

Scholastic has several job moves. Celia Lee rejoins the trade division as senior editor, Cartwheel and Orchard. She was most recently with Scholastic Book Clubs as editorial manager for the We Need Diverse Books partnership. Lori Wieczorek has joined the trade licensed publishing department as editor, licensing, media, and brands. She was previously senior editorial manager and licensing coordinator for Scholastic Book Clubs. Michael Petranek has been promoted to executive editor and manager, AFK and Graphix Media. He was previously executive editor and LEGO brand manager.

April Powers has joined the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators as its inaugural chief equity and inclusion officer. Most recently she ran her own global inclusion consulting and training firm, First Impression Rx, and had previous diversity roles at Nestlé USA and Amgen.

Ashley Hearn will join Peachtree Publishing as acquisitions editor, effective June 22, and will focus on acquiring and editing young adult fiction. Most recently, she was an acquisitions editor at Page Street Publishing.

Following the recent restructure of Simon & Schuster Children's Publishing, the following editorial staff of the Simon Pulse teen imprint will join the trade publishing group. Senior editor Jen Ung and senior editor Nicole Ellul will join Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers, reporting to Kendra Levin. Editor Sarah McCabe will join Margaret K. McElderry Books, reporting to Karen Wojtyla. Kristie Patterson will join Atheneum Books for Young Readers as editorial assistant, reporting to Reka Simonsen.

Andrea Brown Literary Agency has two new hires. Saritza Hernández has joined as agent, and Jemiscoe Chambers-Black has joined as associate agent. Both previously worked at Corvisiero Literary Agency.
