Recently collaborators celebrated another release together; an author spotted her debut on shelves; the creators of wordless picture books hosted an event; and an annual conference brought authors together.

Third Time’s a Charm

Friends and collaborators Shannon Hale (r.) and LeUyen Pham (l.) held an event at the Alameda, Calif., location of Books Inc. to celebrate the release of Party Hearty Kitty-Corn, the third book in their picture book series. Pham and Hale held a reading, gave a drawing demonstration, and signed books for attendees.

An Author and Her ‘Demons’

Michelle Lam posed with a copy of her debut graphic novel Meesh the Bad Demon (Knopf) at Barnes & Noble The Grove in Los Angeles. The graphic novel follows 12-year-old demon Meesh, who is bullied because of her positive outlook, as she must rescue all of demon-kind from impending doom.

We Have No Words

On March 25, Caldecott Honoree Aaron Becker (r.) and debut creator Logan Kline (l.) teamed up for an event at Northshire Bookstore in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. They highlighted their primarily wordless picture books Finding Fire (Candlewick) and The Tree & the River (Candlewick) for young readers.
