Recently an author welcomed a reality TV star to her event; an author-illustrator duo gave demonstrations at their signing; and an author held a book launch.


A Double Dose of Drama

On July 12, author Katharine McGee (r.) kicked off celebrations for her forthcoming YA novel American Royals IV: Reign (Random House) at Love ShackFancy boutique in Dallas. McGee signed copies of her books for guests along with American Royals tote bags to mark the fourth and final installment of the series. Catherine Lowe, a former contestant on The Bachelor, also made an appearance at the event.


A Full-filling Event

Once Upon a Time Bookstore in Montrose, Calif., gave Ramen for Everyone (Atheneum) author Patricia Tanumihardja (r.) and illustrator Shiho Pate (l.) a warm welcome for their picture book signing on July 15. The event featured a reading and a Japanese lesson and drawing session.


Lots of Guests to ‘See’

Kim Johnson (back row, c.) held an event at Barnes & Noble Cascade Station in Portland, Ore., on July 14 for the release of her YA novel Invisible Son (Random House). The book follows wrongfully accused teen Andre Jackson who after his release from a juvenile detention center investigates the disappearance of his best friend.
