Linden Tree Books in Los Altos, Calif., hosted a storytime event on January 7 for author Ying Chang Compestine (r.) and illustrator Crystal Kung’s (l.) picture book Ra Pu Zel and the Stinky Tofu (Rocky Pond). The duo gave a reading of the book along with a live drawing demonstration for the audience.

On December 15, Matt Tavares made a stop on his pre-Christmas tour for his picture book Dasher Can’t Wait for Christmas (Candlewick) at Water Street Books in Exeter, N.H., where a special guest made an appearance.

Canada-based printer Friesens produced 600,000 copies of Chaiwala! by Priti Birla Maheshwari, illustrated by Ashley Barron (Owlkids), for this year's TD Grade One Book Giveaway, hosted annually by the Canadian Children's Book Centre.
