Each year, with the latest Diary of a Wimpy Kid release, author Jeff Kinney hits the road on a specially themed tour to meet and entertain fans. This year’s theme: a show celebrating 300 million Wimpy Kid books in print worldwide, with that night being the night that the milestone will be achieved. (The “partypoopers” of the title are a cast of characters meant to amusingly prevent the milestone from being marked.) Kinney teamed up with bookstores in 10 cities along the East Coast and Deep South to host the family-friendly events; we present a selection of photos from the tour.

The Partypooper Tour’s launch event took place on October 19 in Wrentham, Mass., hosted by Kinney’s bookstore, An Unlikely Story. Here, kids played “Cheesy Trivia.”

At the Wrentham event, fans played party games with Kinney.

On October 20, Kinney appeared on the Today Show and gave out signed books to everyone on the plaza. Here, he was joined by a costumed Greg Heffley.
