Longtime children’s editor Andrea Colvin has announced the launch of an eponymous literary agency specializing in books for young readers, from picture books through new adult.

Most recently, Colvin served as editorial director for graphic publishing at Little, Brown, where she founded and led the Little, Brown Books for Young Readers graphic novel imprint Little, Brown Ink. Previously, she served as editor-in-chief for the comics publisher Lion Forge and spearheaded Andrew McMeel Publishing’s expansion into children’s books.

Colvin is best known for having acquired and published Maia Kobabe’s graphic memoir Gender Queer which received an Alex Award from the ALA in 2020. She also played a developmental role in Jerry Craft’s New Kid, the first graphic novel to win the Newbery Medal.

“After spending three decades helping shape books from the editorial side, I’m excited to advocate for creators for the full lengths of their careers,” said Colvin in a statement.

Andrea Colvin Creative Agency is now open to submissions from authors and illustrators.
