SharedBook Inc., which already has partnerships with Random House, Penguin, HarperCollins, Sterling, Bloomsbury, DK, Hachette and Regnery Publishing has added Thomas Nelson to the list of publishers it works with to sell personalized books to consumers. The announcement coincides with SharedBook’s fifth anniversary and follows its entrance into the Christian market last year.

In the past year, SharedBook doubled its customer base and now works with more than 45 publishers and content brands. Its book unit volumes increased 70% and order volume is up 56%. CEO Caroline Vanderlip said the gains reflect a growing demand for more value-added offerings, which SharedBook is addressing that shift by with its personalized, on-demand content.

The company also just announced its first affiliate program for its Blog2Print platform, which lets users of Blogger, WordPress and TypePad create books from blog content; and for Inscribe-it.com, which is a site SharedBook created to house all the personalized books from publishers that it produces. Through the affiliate program, sites can link to Blog2Print and Inscribe-it and earn revenue from purchases. So far FirstBook.org, Grandparents.com, ClassBrain.com, Kidmondo.com and ScrappingSimply.com have signed on. Additionally, SharedBook has partnered with gardening community site Learn2Grow, which allows consumers to create their own customized gardening books.
