In a bit of housekeeping news, an order filed June 1 in the Authors Guild vs. Google lawsuit has given the parties an extension to file their motions for summary judgment until June 26. Briefs were originally due June 14. The parties together asked for the extension on May 23, days before judge Denny Chin ruled that the case would go forward as a class action. All other dates remain on the schedule for now, keeping the case on track for oral arguments in early September.
