After Larry Kirshbaum announced in May that he would be leaving his eponymous literary agency to run Amazon Publishing, the remaining agents at LJK Literary, Susanna Einstein and Meg Thompson, said they would be staying on and forming a new partnership. The pair has now unveiled the Einstein Thompson Agency, or, for short, ETA. Einstein and Thompson are on as co-directors and, in addition to keeping their own clients, the pair will also be handling the authors Kirshbaum brought into the fold.

Among Kirshbaum's former clients are James Redfield, Jeremy Rifkin, Anita Hill and the estate of Donald Westlake. At ETA, Einstein will continue to focus primarily on fiction (both adult and children's), while Thompson will remain focused on nonfiction. Einstein worked as a scout for Maria B. Campbell before coming on as one of the founding members of LJK, and her clients include Bruce DeSilva, David Ellis and Stephanie McAfee. Thompson, who worked in research at The Charlie Rose Show before joining LJK, has a client list that includes Ken Denmead, Chris Dixon and New York Times essayist Tim Kreider.
