After a strong showing by booksellers and librarians at BookExpo America in 2012, which saw attendance rise 11% over 2011, this year's show just ended looks headed for another increase in attendance, up 7%, according to raw data from BEA events director Steven Rosato. The verification process takes three to four weeks for the numbers to be finalized.

On his blog site, The Bean, Rosato reported strong numbers for booksellers, librarians, and Power Readers combined: 11,101 versus 10, 417 last year. By contrast, the number of industry professionals (exhibitors, rights center personnel, and press) was down slightly, from 19,694 in 2012 to 19, 615 in 2013.
