The Cuckoo’s Calling remained the top-selling print book in the country for the week ending August 4 at outlets that report to Nielsen BookScan despite a 29% drop in sales. Units sold in the most recent week were just under 47,000 copies at BookScan outlets and print sales to date are now over 117,000 copies. The book that enjoyed the biggest leap in sales for the week was Zealot, which landed atop the nonfiction hardcover list. Author Aslan Reza is making the media rounds but his testy interview on Fox News that went viral seems to have been the main spark that led to a 179% increase in sales in the week with units at BookScan outlets coming in at just under 27,000 copies. The e-book was #2 in the iBooks store last week as well.
