To limit textbook costs, CourseSmart, the largest provider of digital course materials, announced the launch of CourseSmart Subscription Packs that allow students to rent six digital textbooks for a flat fee of $200. The price is significantly lower than the average of $1,200 spent annually per student on textbooks and supplies, according to College Board.

“Digital course materials have always provided cost-savings and convenience for students, and we are taking those benefits a step further with CourseSmart Subscription Packs,” said CEO Sean Devine. “This flat-fee model offers students maximum convenience and affordability.”

More than 40,000 titles from 50 publishers are available under the program. For 150 days, students have unlimited access to the books in their pack online, offline, and through CourseSmart’s apps. Like other CourseSmart e-textbooks, they are searchable by keyword, and students can highlight them and take notes in them.
