At my lunch with Jacques Pepin, Anthony Bourdain walked into the restaurant and, upon seeing Jacques, came over to our table to congratulate him on his new book.

Pepin: Thank you for the wonderful blurb!

Bourdain: Oh, of course, I was happy to.

As Bourdain was leaving, I congratulated him on his new imprint at Ecco. I asked him, What are your plans?

Bourdain: Whatever I want.

Me: Cookbooks? Mysteries?

Bourdain: Maybe even a new translation of Montaigne!

Pepin: Ah, wonderful. I think I have someone in mind for him.
