Peterson’s Publishing has acquired Barron's Educational Series (B.E.S.) Publishing, Inc. — formerly known as Barrons — which includes more than 800 children’s, lifestyle and hobby titles. Ingram-owned Two Rivers Distribution began selling and distributing the list globally as of November 1.

Peterson's, which is based in Denver, was founded in 1966 and offers a breadth off test preparation titles and educational directories, as well as books across numerous lifestyle categories. The B.E.S. purchase broadens Peterson's reach into new areas.

“We are thrilled to add the B.E.S. backlist titles to our publishing program and we look forward to adding more great titles to the B.E.S. list in the days and years to come. We can think of no better partner than Two Rivers Distribution to help us bring these titles to market," said Mo Lam, CEO of Peterson's Publishing.

The sale of B.E.S. follows the September 2018 sale by Barron's of its educational assets to Kaplan Test Prep, which also included the sale of the Barron's name. The company had retained some general interest titles, which it has now sold.
