  • Kathryn Juergens to Succeed Andrew Beckman at Timber Press

    Beckman will retire effective December 16. Juergens, who joined Timber in 2005, will step into the role of v-p and publisher on December 19.

    Abby West has been named v-p and editorial director at Amistad, with promotions for Tara Parsons and Laina Adler to v-p and deputy publisher of their respective imprints.

    In a changing of the guard, the Jean V. Naggar Literary agent has been elected to fill the role that Gail Hochman has occupied for 20 years. With the move, Weltz becomes the next president of the Association of American Literary Agents, which represents more than 400 agents.

  • Cheryl Klein Named Editorial Director of Algonquin Young Readers

    Klein, who previously served as editorial director of Lee & Low, will report to publisher Stacy Lellos.

  • IBPA's Angela Bole Named to Head Firebrand Group

    Bole, current CEO of the trade association Independent Book Publishers Association, will leave that role on November 30 to take over as CEO of the publishing technology company Firebrand Group. At Firebrand, Bole will succeed company founder and CEO Fran Toolan on February 1, 2023.

    Watson takes the reins following interim executive director Cindy Myers, who stepped in to lead Small Press Distribution after the resignation of Brent Cunningham.
