Coming off last week's announcement of this year's Academy Award nominations, The Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznik has seen the greatest sales bump out of all the nominees that are based on books. Selznik's book is the source material for Martin Scorsese's Hugo, which leads all other nominees with 11 overall nominations this year, including Best Picture. On Amazon, the book (which does not have a Kindle version) has moved up to number nine; it has moved up from #36 in the last 24 hours. Another nominee, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (the book by Jonathan Safran Foer) continues its strong sales, holding down the number seven spot on the Kindle chart and #36 on the physical.
