Penguin Group (USA) has created a new initiative called Read for the Heart in honor of American Heart month, and will feature six mass market paperback titles from authors Mary Balogh, Catherine Coulter, Wynonna Judd, Lynn Kurland, Nora Roberts, and Beatrice Small. Special editions of the titles will include information about the American Heart Association, an organization to which Penguin has just donated $25,0000.

“Heart disease is the leading cause of death in American women. Penguin is glad to share the work of The American Heart Association with our readers. We hope this program empowers women to know their risk factors for heart disease and share the risk factors with their friends —just like they would share a good book,” said Leslie Gelbman, president of mass market publishing for Penguin.

The editions are available beginning February 7. To learn more and view a complete list of the participating retail outlets, visit www.penguin.com/readfortheheart.
