Simon & Schuster is bumping up, and spicing up, its forthcoming David Petraeus book. Fred Kaplan's The Insurgents: David Petraeus and the Plot to Change the American Way of War is now set for January 2, with a new postscript about the former CIA chief's recent resignation. I had been set for January 15.
Kaplan, S&S said, broke the news about Petraeus's affair with Paula Broadwell on Slate, in his column, War Stories.
