Simon & Schuster has implemented new e-book agreements with its e-tailers. Although terms are confidential, e-tailers can sell individual titles at a discount. S&S joins HarperCollins and Hachette Book Group in modifying its e-book agreements following settlements with the DoJ in the government’s lawsuit of e-book price fixing. “We have entered new agreements with our e-book agents that are in compliance with the DoJ settlement and we look forward to working with our retailers to expand the readership for our authors and grow the e-book marketplace,” S&S said in a statement.

A check of popular S&S e-books as of December 10 showed The Last Man by Vince Flynn at $11.99, The Perks of Being a Wallflower at $6.99, and Team of Rivals by Doris Kearns Goodwin for $9.99. The prices were the same for Amazon and B&N, but another S&S title, Proof of Heaven, was $7.99 on Amazon and $8.43 on B&N.
