Simon & Schuster is making available to authors information about infringement and unauthorized copies of their works that the publisher receives from Attributor, the service S&S engaged to help fight piracy. Through the S&S Author Portal, authors will see information about the number of infringements identified and takedown notices sent to infringing sites, success rates in removing infringements, the types of sites where infringement is occurring, the specific urls and geographic distribution of sites where unauthorized copies are offered and more.
Simon & Schuster began working with Attributor in 2011 to track and remove infringing copies of digital, audio and print titles published by Simon & Schuster from online sites.
