Hachette Book Group has reached an agreement with its sister company, Hachette U.K., that allows the publishers to distribute each other's e-books through their respective digital retailers.
Under the agreement, authors who have granted world or world English language rights of their books to HBG will have e-books in English available for sale worldwide. E-books will go on sale immediately in the U.K., Europe, Australia, India and Africa (through HUK’s e-book retail partners) and in South America, the Caribbean, and Asia in the coming weeks (through HBG’s e-book retail partners).
The e-books will sell in local currency, and in addition, HBG's e-books will be available for promotion and inclusion in retailers' marketing programs in HUK's territories. Authors will receive full e-book royalties on these sales.
