Conceived as a German specialist publishing group with an international focus, Weka has grown to become a corporate group with more than 25 companies throughout Europe offering a wide range of business services in the B2B and B2C markets.

WEKA closed fiscal 2015 with a slight decrease in performance. Group revenues accounted for 232 million EUR against 235 million EUR in 2014. The share of revenues generated in Germany, Austria and Switzerland accounted for 179 million EUR against 181 million EUR in 2014. The Group had total assets of 210 million EUR (against 198 million EUR in 2014) and an equity ratio of 60% (58% in 2014).

Ownership, Mergers & Acquisition, Internal Organization

WEKA Group is solely owend by Werner Mütel and his family. In 2015, WEKA Business Media (Zurich) acquired 80% shares of Lernwerkstatt Olten, a training provider for educational professionals. WEKA Holding (Kissing) acquired 80% shares of DIOS (Reken), a provider for dental accounting software, in order to broaden the product portfolio of the sister company Spitta (Balingen), which is one of the largest publishers for dentists in Germany. WEKA MEDIA (Kissing) took over Pro Lernen (Unterschleißheim) in order to expand in e-learning. At the beginning of 2016, WEKA Holding acquired 75% of the Forum Group (Wiesbaden), a large German provider for B2B trainings and seminars with four companies.
