The PW Select Web site is now live and accepting registrations from any self-published author who want to appear in PW’s December self-publishing supplement. Cost for the listing is $149, although subscribers who are also self-published authors will get one listing for free as a subscriber benefit. The PW Select announcement issues will appear quarterly in 2011 and in addition to a listing of new self-published titles will include reviews of at least 25 titles from the books submitted. News about the self-publishing field and interviews with authors will also be included in the supplements.

PW president George Slowik Jr. noted that the magazine chose to devote four quarterly announcement issues to self-publishing because of the explosive growth in the category. “PW does regular announcement issues and supplements that cover a wide variety of publishing segments,” said Slowik. “We believe the self-publishing supplement will bring self-published authors more attention from our subscriber base of publishers, agents, booksellers and distributors.”

The registration fee of $149 entitles authors to a listing that includes title, author, illustrator (where applicable), pagination, price, format, ISBN, and a description of the book's contents--all of which will appear in the supplement and online database. Authors should also include the online location or phone number at which to place orders for their book. In addition to the listing, those who register will receive a six-month subscription to the digital edition of PW.
