Lion extends its brightly illustrated line of Bibles and Bible stories for kids with My First Bible Stories by Christina Goodings, illus. by Stephen Barker (Nov.). The storybook simplifies 11 familiar biblical tales for ages up to 3.

Logos issues the next generation of its Bible study software, Logos V. The newest version includes a number of new tools and it links with other Logos resources, including Vyrso Christian e-books.

B&H welcomed Micah Carter as spokesperson for the publisher’s Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB) translation. Carter will help educate the marketplace about the distinctiveness of the HCSB and assist the Bible development team with publishing strategies. He served as director of communications for LifeWay Christian Resources and publishing team leader for Young Adult Ministry in the company’s Church Resources division. Carter holds a Ph.D. in systematic theology from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.

Crossway and digital Bible app developer Immersion Digital have partnered on two new apps for the iPhone and iPad that will pair the ESV Study Bible with the digital platform used by the Glo Bible. The new apps include a paid ESV Study Bible app and a free ESV Bible app. The “powered by Glo” apps feature the English Standard Version (ESV) and use Glo Bible’s digital platform, which incorporates 360-degree virtual tours, photos, animated maps, social features, and Bible reading plans.

Visitors to the National Council of Churches’ BibleGateway.com now have access to the Revised Standard Version (RSV) and New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) translations. They join the more than 160 Bible translations in 70 languages now available on BibleGateway.com, which draws more than 13 million unique visitors each month. Both the NRSV and RSV are now live and fully accessible at www.BibleGateway.com.
