The Message: Catholic/Ecumenical Edition will be published September 1 in paperback by ACTA Publications. Eugene Peterson’s The Message Bible—which has sold more than 16 million copies--is rendered in an idiomatic, American English, paraphrased style. The Message: Catholic/Ecumenical Edition is the first version that adds for Catholic, Anglican, and Orthodox readers the deuterocanonical books of Judith, Tobit, Sirach, Wisdom, Baruch, and 1 and 2 Maccabees, as well as additional passages to Esther and Daniel; all have been translated by William Griffin in the same contemporary style. An accompanying book called Selections from The Message will be available in paperback and Kindle editions. To promote The Message: Catholic/Ecumenical Edition, ACTA is offering a free e-mail service, "New Message 4 Next Week," which provides the lectionary readings for the following Sunday in the Catholic and Episcopal traditions.
