Pelican Book Group is donating proceeds from sales of Wendy Davy’s Christian romance novel, Summer’s Flame (Aug.), to Food for the Poor. The organization provides food, housing, health care, education, water, emergency relief, and micro-enterprise assistance in the Caribbean and Latin America while keeping administrative costs under 5%.

The Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference has honored seven Baker Publishing Group titles with 2015 Selah Awards, including Book of the Year, which was presented to Love Comes Home by Ann H. Gabhart. The Selah Awards recognize excellence in Christian genre fiction.

The Christian Small Publishers Association has opened nominations for its Book of the Year Awards for titles published in 2014 or 2015 by presses with annual revenues of $400,000 or less. The deadline for nominations is November 15, 2016; Christian retailers and readers will vote on nominated titles in February and March 2016. Nominations are open for the 2016 Illumination Awards, which will be presented in January 2016 by Independentpublisher.com. Early birds will pay a discounted entry fee $75 per category until June 13, 2015, with graduated fees for interim deadlines. Final entries must be postmarked no later than November 21, 2015.
