RH Takes Pope’s Book for Young People

Random House’s Mika Kasuga bought North American English and Spanish rights from Veronica Broglio at Italian publisher Piemme Edizioni for God is Young by Pope Francis. Translated from the Italian Dio è giovane, the book features a new, never-before-published interview between journalist Thomas Leoncini and Pope Francis about young people around the world, in and outside of the Catholic Church. By addressing issues faced by today’s youth, Pope Francis hopes to help “build a bridge between generations, and renew and revitalize our society,” according to the publisher. God Is Young is scheduled for publication in English in October 2018 in simultaneous hardcover and e-book editions in the U.S. and Canada. Domestic Spanish editions will also be available in trade paperback and e-book. The book has sold in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, South America, Portugal, Brazil, Poland, Croatia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic, and Lithuania.
