  • F+W Sued for Holiday Parody

    Parody may be the highest form of flattery, but that’s not the way CCA and B, LLC, publishers of the holiday staple Elf on the Shelf, see it. In late June the company filed a 19-count lawsuit in U.S. District Court against Adams Media, parent company F+W Media, for its humor book for parents, Elf Off the Shelf.

    In 1993 Milkweed Editions had its first bestseller with Larry Watson's Montana 1948. Now, after years of publishing with bigger houses, Watson has returned to the press for his latest, American Boy, which Milkweed sees not only as an editorial coup, but also as a major homecoming.

  • HIV RAP Guide Goes Global to Libraries

    Sociometrics Corp. has announced that its newly-released 2011 online resource, HIV RAP Interactive: A Multimedia Guide to Awareness and Prevention, which is a user-friendly collection of interactive, multimedia sexual health resources, is now available in over 700 U.S. Embassy Libraries, Binational Libraries, and Embassy Corners throughout the world. The subscription is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State.

  • Avon Books Joins Ovarian Cancer Awareness Campaign

    Avon has made an initial donation of $25,000 to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance and has also committed to donating 25 cents from the sale of each book and e-book bearing OCNA’s "K.I.S.S. and Teal" logo and motto.
